Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and your rights.

Who are we?

What private data we keep and why we track it

Comments

We have chosen to turn comments off on our posts, so there will not be any collection of information here.

Media

We do not allow user media uploads on this site. If this changes, we will update this policy.

Contact forms

If you contact us via the contact form on our site, we will respond using the email address you provide. This will not subscribe you to any newsletters, and we will not provide your details to third parties.

Cookies

We place cookies on some pages to track the success of our paid traffic from platforms such as Facebook and Google. This allows us to see whether people are clicking through to our site and whether they continue further, helping us make better decisions. We do not receive any personally identifiable information from these pixels, and we do not pass our pixels to third parties.

Logging in

When you log in, we set several cookies to keep your login details and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen preference cookies last for twelve months. If you tick “Remember Me”, your login will persist for a fortnight. If you sign out, the sign-in cookies are deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal information and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It is removed after one day.

Embedded content from unrelated websites

Posts on this website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that site.

Analytics

We use analytics and advertising pixels (e.g. Facebook and Google) to understand performance. This does not give us personal information, but provides aggregate insights that help us improve our site and advertising.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties. We may use Facebook and/or Google pixels solely to track the performance of paid advertising. These tools provide aggregated data and do not identify you personally to us.

How long we retain your personal information

If comments are enabled in future and you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be stored indefinitely to help us recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our site (if any), we store the personal data they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or erase their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and update those details.

What rights you have over your data

If you have a profile on this website, or have left comments (currently turned off), you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal information we hold about you. This excludes any data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
